This page explains what personal information Matt & Co Property collects through buykalkan.com, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell your details or pass them on for anyone else’s marketing.
Who we are

What we collect
- When you contact us or ask for the buyer’s guide: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and message, the property you asked about, the page and language you were using, and how you found the site (for example a QR code on one of our posters).
- Page visits: we count visits to each listing and article. To tell new visitors from returning ones we use a scrambled, one-way code made from your connection and browser. We don’t store your IP address, and the code can’t be turned back into anything that identifies you.
- Your choices on this device: your language, currency and shortlist are saved in your own browser. A small cookie remembers your language so our server sends pages in it.
Why we use it
To answer your questions, send you what you asked for and help you buy a home, which you have asked us to do. To run and improve the website, which is in our legitimate interest. We only send you news about new homes if you ask us to, and every such email lets you stop them.
Who else handles it
- IONOS hosts the website and its database.
- Web3Forms delivers the messages you send through our forms to our email inbox.
- Google Maps, only if you press “Show the map” on the Contact page.
- YouTube, only if you play a property video (in its privacy-enhanced mode).
- OpenStreetMap supplies the map in the collection’s map view, and cdnjs the code that draws it.
- open.er-api.com and frankfurter.app supply exchange rates for the currency menu. No personal information is sent to them.
Each of these receives only what it needs to do its job, under its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for as long as we are helping you, and for up to three years after we were last in touch, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
New-listing alerts and emails
If you sign up for new-listing alerts we keep your email address, your language and the search you chose until you unsubscribe. Every alert email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address. When you send us a message we email you a confirmation, and if you ask for a brochure we email you its link. These emails are sent from noreply@buykalkan.com by our web host.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to object to its use, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. These rights come from the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation and Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698). Email info@buykalkan.com and we’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with our answer you can complain to your data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK or the KVKK Authority in Türkiye.
Cookies and storage
- mc_lang (cookie, one year): your chosen language, so pages load in it.
- Your browser’s storage: language, currency, shortlist, exchange rates, and whether you’ve opened the buyer’s guide. It stays on your device.
- Our own staff use one more cookie to sign in to the website’s admin pages.
We use no analytics, advertising or social media cookies, which is why the site doesn’t ask you to accept cookies.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
